I have finally decided to take the plunge and start my first blog! I have dreamt of this moment for quite a number of years, so I am super excited to start this journey with you.

So where did it all begin?

Well, it began over 11 years ago. A monumental fork in the road moment led me to making a huge decision to go and work in China. As you can imagine this was a very scary, but exciting time in my life. I hadn't travelled anywhere else before ALONE,  and to go to China was - as many of my friends and family said - crazy! But to me it wasn't, it was a chance to find myself again, be who I wanted to be and explore this amazing country.

Where did this idea come from?

I once had a dream; a Chinese lady dressed in a traditional red qipao dress handed me a scroll with a red ribbon tied around it. I woke up and saw her stood beside my bed. I was very shocked and scared at the time. Once she handed me the scroll, she walked across the room and disappeared into the mirror. My heart was racing; I was scared to death as it felt so real and for several days afterwards, I had to sleep with the light on. From that point onwards, I couldn't stop thinking about that dream and China. I always found Asia to be a very wonderful and mysterious place and loved Asian food, so I think the seed was always planted, but it just never grew. The lady in my dream stimulated the seed to grow, which led to several significant moments in my life that lead me to China.

These significant moments related to very personal events in my life at which point I am still not quite ready to spill onto the page, but hopefully I can pick up the courage in future blog posts so keep an eye out for it. Anyway one of my beliefs in life is that 'everything happens for a reason'. I have always believed this! Whether it is a lesson, a need for change, a time to reconnect/disconnect with someone, or a time to reflect on life; these things happen to make us stop and think for a moment! When we think things are bad, and life is unfair, cruel, hard, unbearable; we stop, think, ponder, reflect and then learn, make changes and grow. Whether that's a change of path or a slight fork in the road, we all go through it and probably more than once in our lifetime.

China was my fork in the road, and boy what a journey it was. Almost eight years the journey lasted for and there were ups and downs just like any other journey in life. Overall it was a magical time in my life and I am so happy that I took that leap of faith!

And so Fluffy Cushion was born!

So how did it lead me to where I am today. Firstly, it gave me the confidence to believe in myself. I felt like I could achieve anything. Secondly, it gave me the taste for exploration. I wanted to give people what I had experienced and so the idea of Fluffy Cushion was born. I wanted to create a travel business to provide that Fluffy Cushion for people who want to plan a trip but don't have the time or maybe the know how of where to begin. I also wanted to take it one step further and give my clients total peace of mind leading up to to there trip, during it and also on their return; so the complete package with total peace of mind, allowing my clients to relax in the knowledge that I am taking care of everything for them.
